Some thoughts of the folkloric/"urban legend (ugghh)" Slenderman

It amuses a lot of people to hear 'urban legend', not anthropologically correct!  However, it annoys many that 'modern' people couldn't be bothered to connect the phenomenon with the old folklore antecedent of the "Man in Black".  The "Man in Black" folklore was born in old Medieval European, UK, Middle-Eastern (Near Eastern) beliefs and sightings.  Another modern 'pop culture' misnomer like 'slender man' or 'men in black' (wrongly associated with 'aliens').  After a while, one must 'grow-up' and do their research.  These ideas and beliefs existed before you, take some time to research before renaming them.   Yes, HE will break certain people like the two awful U.S. teens that tried to murder friends, but this is their own fault and misinterpretation of the situation.  "Urban Legend" and "Creepy-pasta" (Nonsense term) are misnomers for folklore and culture.  All that can be said is read, learn, research, educate yourself, whether it through formal or informal means.
