A 'holy' place in Tennessee.  Why do I call it holy (heilige), because of the ease of communing with certain spirits/geists there.  I will tell you, it borders the central time zone, yet it still considered East Tennessee.  The mountains are some of the oldest in the U.S. and this is proven by their diminutive size (worn by time).  It possesses a stream (creek) which runs due south from the north (The dark to the light, 'illumination/ancestry').  Although, a stream running due east is favored more in Tennessee 'folk-magic' (Christianity favors the direction of Jerusalem).  It is what people would call extremely 'haunted', although the spirits there are not just the dead.  Hopefully, it is never scarred by so called 'development'.  Quite a few local 'ghost stories' and legends were told about the place up until the 1990's.     

A millstone from the early 20th century at the neighbors' farm.  It is rife with symbolism, i.e. the path of life where one is ground to dust (death), the path of life where one is shaped from raw materials to another state.  Miller (i.e. dusted with flour) is an old word for "White Moth" in Tennessee (the usage died out in the early or middle 1980's).  Puck/Buck is associated with the mill. 

The difficult to grow Mandrake (Mandragora autumnalis) in Tennessee (temperate/occasional low tropical climate).  It usually takes three to four months to germinate or sprout when planted in early spring or late winter in a container.  In my experience, cold stratification is unnecessary, depending on your vendor.  Warm spring or summer rains seem to cause a lot of growth.  It loves industrial type fertilization here 20/20/20 or higher and weekly watering (the only way it will grow).  Unfortunately, mine seem to die within a year, with tiny roots?  Strictly Medicinal Seeds, an excellent vendor and the seeds germinate!

Bros of Decay - Beautiful Abandoned Home in Belgium   It takes a special type of person to appreciate abandoned places, without damaging or destroying them.  This Youtube channel fascinates me for many reasons.  They seem to love exploration and feel sympathy because they can 'see' the people and workers 'living' in these spaces, again.  Renaissance magical texts describe 'abandoned' places as places of Saturn or under the 'ruler-ship' of Saturnus.

The only purpose of alcohol and drugs, which eludes 'modern' people is ritual activity and easing the pains of death.  This is one reason why addictions develop.  The true purpose was/is tribal strengthening/bonding/ storytelling, connecting, travelling to the 'church'/transvection (trance in modern parlance), gaining the sight/ 'the knack' or the 'shine' or seeing over distance and time and communing with greater or lesser spirits and certain 'fertility'/rutting/ defensive/ 'right order' rituals where power was taken down or pulled up from the Celestial, Earthly or Underworld Spheres .  This is why some will give you no sympathy for your cleanses, drying out, abstaining, etc.  The Fairies/ 'Them Others'/ The Old People/Ancestors are said to despise tee-totalers because of their haughtiness and disrespect of these gifts which they introduced to mankind (Read the Secret Commonwealth, Rev. Kirke).
