The 'electronic age'
We were early adopters of technology. Personal Computers were part of the early 80's (regardless of the false attribution to the 1990's). In the 1980's, computers came as kits and you had to program them with cassette tapes and manual programming.

It is a disgrace that 'modern gadgets' allow 'every tool in the shed' to make unverified and non-researched comments. Unfortunately, we had a wider vision of electronics: I.e. greater economic stability and equality, verified research and 'news', longer life -spans and better health, the end of gerrymandering politics, free education for everyone, less demand on natural resources. None of these things happened, so what was/ is the purpose? Gadgets and Gimmicks are not technology, 'true technology' advances the poor to the wealthy. It hopefully closes the gap, although the opposite has happened.
