In the mountains ('Appalachia') 'a Biddy' is an old contemptible woman, a bitch, if you will.  Granny used to talk about this biddy and that biddy.  So no one was 'birth named' Biddy in the mountains, a strange thing in a Scotch - Irish culture.  'Green Bottle'...
