Total Eclipse, 2017, August 21st, South-Eastern U.S.A.

It's laughable that 'sophisticated, modern, computer-literate' people, should be so afraid of an Eclipse.  Or is it possibly, the same echo of our ancestors who fired shots and arrows at the sky, set off firecrackers, banged on pots, pans, gongs, and blew horns to scare away the shadow.  The same as those ancestors who stood in the forests at night, teeth chattering and knees knocking.  There has been a debate about highway/interstate-roadway/school closures on the day.  People are the same as they were and to claim 'technical' sophistication and complete logic as modern standards and the past as lost in stories or myth and ignorance, is just as useful.  Mythology of the 'Modern Era'.
