Mandragora autumnalis
The difficult to grow Mandrake (Mandragora autumnalis) in Tennessee (temperate/occasional low tropical climate). It usually takes three to four months to germinate or sprout when planted in early spring or late winter in a container. In my experience, cold stratification is unnecessary, depending on your vendor. Warm spring or summer rains seem to cause a lot of growth. It loves industrial type fertilization here 20/20/20 or higher and weekly watering (the only way it will grow). Unfortunately, mine seem to die within a year, with tiny roots?
