A 'holy' place in Tennessee.  Why do I call it holy (heilige), because of the ease of communing with certain spirits/geists there.  I will tell you, it borders the central time zone, yet it still considered East Tennessee.  The mountains are some of the oldest in the U.S. and this is proven by their diminutive size (worn by time).  It possesses a stream (creek) which runs due south from the north (The dark to the light, 'illumination/ancestry').  Although, a stream running due east is favored more in Tennessee 'folk-magic' (Christianity favors the direction of Jerusalem).  It is what people would call extremely 'haunted', although the spirits there are not just the dead.  Hopefully, it is never scarred by so called 'development'.  Quite a few local 'ghost stories' and legends were told about the place up until the 1990's.     

A millstone from the early 20th century at the neighbors' farm.  It is rife with symbolism, i.e. the path of life where one is ground to dust (death), the path of life where one is shaped from raw materials to another state.  Miller (i.e. dusted with flour) is an old word for "White Moth" in Tennessee (the usage died out in the early or middle 1980's).  Puck/Buck is associated with the mill. 

The difficult to grow Mandrake (Mandragora autumnalis) in Tennessee (temperate/occasional low tropical climate).  It usually takes three to four months to germinate or sprout when planted in early spring or late winter in a container.  In my experience, cold stratification is unnecessary, depending on your vendor.  Warm spring or summer rains seem to cause a lot of growth.  It loves industrial type fertilization here 20/20/20 or higher and weekly watering (the only way it will grow).  Unfortunately, mine seem to die within a year, with tiny roots?  Strictly Medicinal Seeds, an excellent vendor and the seeds germinate!

Bros of Decay - Beautiful Abandoned Home in Belgium   It takes a special type of person to appreciate abandoned places, without damaging or destroying them.  This Youtube channel fascinates me for many reasons.  They seem to love exploration and feel sympathy because they can 'see' the people and workers 'living' in these spaces, again.  Renaissance magical texts describe 'abandoned' places as places of Saturn or under the 'ruler-ship' of Saturnus.

The only purpose of alcohol and drugs, which eludes 'modern' people is ritual activity and easing the pains of death.  This is one reason why addictions develop.  The true purpose was/is tribal strengthening/bonding/ storytelling, connecting, travelling to the 'church'/transvection (trance in modern parlance), gaining the sight/ 'the knack' or the 'shine' or seeing over distance and time and communing with greater or lesser spirits and certain 'fertility'/rutting/ defensive/ 'right order' rituals where power was taken down or pulled up from the Celestial, Earthly or Underworld Spheres .  This is why some will give you no sympathy for your cleanses, drying out, abstaining, etc.  The Fairies/ 'Them Others'/ The Old People/Ancestors are said to despise tee-totalers because of their haughtiness and disrespect of these gifts which they introduced to mankind (Read the Secret Commonwealth, Rev. Kirke). 

I know people just get 'chuffed to bits' about these linguistic subtleties posts.  Words are power, in 'themselves', so consider that idea.  Dumb and Dull in old usage means dead, pure and simple.  Witchcraft is focused on Ancestry and the powers of death, more so than the neo-pagan nonsense that was perpetuated in the 60's to 90's about fertility gods.  We historically, have no clue what our ancient ancestors believed and how they viewed antisocial - 'Saturnine' people (other than the foreign 'Old Testament' examples).  What was considered 'witchcraft' begun in the early medieval period in Europe (evidence still exists in certain extremely rare 'modern' beliefs that echo medieval sorcery practice- whether you believe it or not) .  'Sorcery' was however an ancient concept, just as 'poisoning'.  Dumb and Dull used to be methods of divining per personal ancestors and guiding spirits, beyond what 'modern' supp...

U.S. kids have a problem with Das Handy/Cell like German Kids (Useless Gadget Fasc.).  German Kids can't read Fraktur/Old German script and U.S. kids can't read cursive and definitely not old U.S. Cursive.  Seems like a Grandpa issue, then you realize the original U.S. Constitution is in old U.S. cursive and old land deeds.  So these sought after 'wing-nuts' in employment can go to Washington D.C. and look at the founding documents and just see 'scribbles', reassuring isn't it?  Youth is only admirable in it's fallacy and strength of imagination.  Although, middle age and elder pays the way for their 'uninformed dreams'.  We have people in their dotage who fulfill the fantasy/imagination parts of life, so the only purpose of youth is 'looking pretty'.  What a valuable skill.

I often desired the power of invisibility when I was a child and took certain 'magical' actions to become so endeavored.  It was safety from bullying and harassment.  However, for regular people invisibility is an art(e) of natural principles.  It causes a person to blend into the background, not to become literally 'out of sight'.  Regular people become a part of the mass of humanity.  This is a fine thing, when you are in mortal danger but, not when you are trying to live a normal life.  I'm quite sure many will take the post as pure insanity, but I have a background in Neurology and Psychology.  The true definition of insanity, is the inability to recognize actions that are out of the "ordinary (societal mores')" or not on par with what is considered normal thought.  I realize everyone will not consider this ordinary, but I've never wanted to be ordinary and that is quintessence of 'invisibility' with a 'regular' human.  One wond...

Black Deer Fawn in Texas Some proof of the legendary and rare.  Whether you call them aberrations, little miracles, sacred, or just meat...you see they are rarities, illegal to hunt in some places, legendary, and prohibited to hunt by belief (or if you prefer 'superstition').  Superstition is the most foul word in the English language.  It's a way to discredit ideas and beliefs that are old and not mainstream (unfortunately, its a tired cliché as everyone from the Egyptians- oh that 'evil' Set to the Christians 'oh that 'evil' Devil to the 'modernists', oh that 'evil' religion) have done and said...ugggh!!  Everything 'old' is evil, humans are terrible ageists and it's really boring.  Just my opinion.

A boy in Michigan received death threats for shooting an Albino Deer.  I'm positively sure that children shouldn't be threatened with death (PTSD and Anxiety Disorders)!  It was up to his father to discern the rarity of the animal (nor should he be threatened, although common sense would seem to be in order here).  A regular deer would have been more sensible, a deer that was eaten would have been more sensible, a 'regular' deer for charity (for those starving) even more so, then no animal would have been the highest order.  My opinion...

Coleman.  There was a 'superstitious' prohibition of shooting an albino deer in some parts of Kentucky, Tennessee and the U.K., not sure it is still believed.  Synchronicities of the human mind and continuance of lore (historically unverified) are a wonderful thing !

Svartkonstbok An hand-written book of Necromancy or Dark Art from Sweden.  Usually these books had Christian prayers and symbolism and little to no Necromancy or 'Dark Art'.  However, this book is 'dedicated' to the 'lower spirit', Barbuel.  It contains citations (conjurations, beschwörung) for Barbuel.  It is also dedicated to "Jesu, God and Marys' Son Halleluja"...
