Thoughts on 'the Road', Classical Learning, The Gordian Knot, and Myth

In 18th/19th century England and the Southern U.S., 'Ladies and Gentlemen' were educated in 'classics' (Greek and Latin, language, ethics, philosophy and myth).  While it's debatable they WERE ladies and gentlemen according to their treatment to the poor, indentured servants, and those forced to be slaves, they were 'classically educated'.  So some of those ideas remain in the UK and Southern US, which is why it is mentioned.

The 'Road', The 'Mill' refer to Life, the road is often blocked to us by natural law and probability.  The Gordian Knot may also refer to the obstacles of Life.  However, Alexander the Great took a 'short-cut' (pun intended) and severed the knot (according to legend).  While the 'Greater Spirits' ('God'/'Gods') were angered, they were helpless to stop him as he had solved the mystery of the obstacles/'nature' put before mankind.  Thus, he obtained the 'world' and the 'heavens'.  Some will disagree, but it is just a thought...   Let US find the 'short-cut'!
